As a boy I used the legendary Rolykit pencil case http://www.rolykit.nl/ The original Rolykit was invented in 1973 by the film director Samuel Meijering. The pencil case was a later prodcut of the Rolykit company. This was a big hit in the Netherlands and in other countries in the 90's. This design has alway stuck with me and I held on to the original case. Now, having the modeling skills and a 3D printer in my possession. I recreated this iconic design for the 3D FDM printer.

Below you will find a video of the case on youtube
The original Rolykit, this is my old pencil case that I used in Elementary school.
The boxes contained real bruynzeel pensils, markers and a sharpener.
One of the transparant plastic retainers has snapped somewhere in its life. Otherwise the box is in pretty good nick. It helps that I stored it in a dark box. The plastic is of course senitive to UV light.
The original Rolykit served as inspiration for the logo.
My design is a bit smaller, it can of course be made to match exact. However some changes where made to make printing possible.
Same length, but shorter in this direction. (the black marks where my attempt at rescuing this print. The design has been changed to eliminate this problem.
The button is now flat. This makes printing easier on a flat bed. Instead of the original concave one.
A logo on the side
the hinges are exposed.
The case measures about 190x100mm
The case has also been made "low profile" making it only suitable for pencils. I can easily change the height of the compartments. Do you have a good idea of things to store in an ingenious case like this. Send me an email and I might be able to add that variant!
